English 10 Honors taking EOC Writing SOL

This year will be the first year that the English 10 honor students at Burton high school will complete the End of Course Writing SOL test. Prior to this year, this test has only been given to juniors at Burton.  Several sophomores have been preparing for this test since the beginning of school, including Haley M., Megan D., Paloma B., Skylar W., Zoe E.. Haley H., Malachi K. Sarah M., and Iyanna M.

Ms.Cline, the English 10 honors instructor, recently stated that she thinks her class is nervous to be the first sophomore class to undertake this endeavor at Burton; however, she is confident that every student in her class has the ability to pass this test.  Ms. Cline further emphasized that she received EOC Writing SOL tips from both Ms. Davis and Mrs. Bias in preparation for instructing her students.

Most of the students in Ms. Cline's class seem to be approaching this test with caution.  Skyler W. a 10th grader who is taking the Writing SOL test, stated that he is very ambitious, and a little nervous; nonetheless, he believes the students in English 10 honors will pass.  Students will take this test on October 17 and 18.  Burton's Blog wishes them the best of luck!
