During the past week, I read the 3 of the 4 books in the "Fallen" series by Lauren Kate. I highly recommend this series to anyone who is into forbidden love, suspense, and mystery. The first book starts out slowly, but picks up and creates an intense and exciting story. You will not be able to stop reading these books! I was completely addicted and could not wait to see what happened next. Now, I can not wait to read the final book in this series! I have posted below the summaries for the first three books. Seventeen year old Lucinda "Luce" Price has been sent to Sword and Cross boarding school for being suspected in the murder of a class mate. There she meets Daniel Grigori who seems oddly familiar. Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce, and makes it known from the beginning. Luce just can not get Daniel out of her mind, and will not give up on trying to get Daniel to notice her.
Luce and Daniel do end up together, but it isn't that easy. Daniel admits to
Luce that he is a fallen angel and that they are soul
mates, but their love is cursed. Daniel has had to watch Luce die every 17 years. Luce
remembers none of her past lives but knows that she loves Daniel more than
anything else. Luce is determined to put a end to Daniel's torment and pain
of watching her spontaneously combust in every life and finally break
the curse so that they can finally, once and for all, be together.
Daniel wants Luce to be protected from his world so he keeps her sheltered and
tells her very little about it, which causes many problems. He already gave up
heaven for Luce, but he'll have to go through hell to get her for good. The
battle between good and evil has never been this intense. Everyone
wants Luce because she is apparently the key to heaven , which Daniel failed to
mention to her. There is a huge fight going on to win Luce
between good and evil. Daniel is the most important person in this fight, and
he wants to assure that Luce is safe while the fight takes place. To do so, he sends Luce to a boarding
school for half-breed angels where nobody will find her, as long as she stays
on campus.
It is there that Luce learns that her feelings for Daniel could just be a shadow of her feelings from past lives. Luce learns to step into her past, takes an adventure to see her and Daniels past lives together. Daniel hears of this and of course goes to find her. He seems to always be one step behind, so he becomes suspicious that someone is helping Luce. While on this adventure, not only does she see her past self die over and over, she also meets Bill. Bill is a gnome that helped Luce through the past. He is not who Luce thinks he is. Once Daniel finds Luce, readers find out just how much damage Luce and Bill's adventure caused.
Daniel is left to save the world's past and future.
