Burton varsity baseball victorious over Twin Springs

Yesterday, on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, Burton's baseball team was triumphant over the Twin Springs baseball team. The final score of the game was 5-1, ending in an easy victory for the Raiders. Burton's players did not play to the best of their abilities, but they did not need to as the Titans just did not have the necessary skill to beat the Raiders.

The Raiders took a small lead early on, but the game was not sealed there. Twin Springs looked like they could catch back up in the earlier part of the game, even turning over a double play at one point. As the game progressed, it became clear that they were not catching up; their team was just not skillful enough to close the gap. The Titans did have a deep hit in left-center field that was not caught, but just one good hit was not enough to put them over the top.

The Raiders played a good game, not amazing, but not terrible either. Throughout the course of the game, there were a few deep hits, primarily by Isaac D. and Cobye R. The Raiders stayed focused on the game and that was a big reason for their win. They ended the game with a double play from second to first.
