Should students grade their teachers?

Students grading their teacher on how well he or she teaches has been a highly discussed topic nationwide. Many students complain about how poorly some teachers teach. If it is just one student or a handful of students complaining, it is most likely that the teacher is doing a great job but the student/students just dislike working. If a whole class complains, then the teacher might be struggling to effectively teach his or her students.

I personally believe students should be allowed to grade their teachers. Some teachers do not teach well. For example, a teacher may be too strict, teach too fast, or expect too much out of students.  Some teachers also just fail to teach all together. When all the students' grades drop in a class, this is when students should be able to grade their teachers.

This is how I think the system should work:  when an entire class's grades drop, then teacher grading should be considered. The principal, or people with higher authority, should then holds a grading of the teacher. To avoid students abusing the system, they must provide proper reasoning on their evaluations. If the class is full of students who all ready make low grades and have disciplinary issues, the system does not need to be used; this can be determined by administration. Putting this system in place could really help students get a better education and prevent teachers from receiving too many complaints.
